Be a beauty sensation in the knock-out shades of the 120 Colour Eyeshadow Palette 3rd Edition! This double tray palette contains a mixture of matte and shimmer in some bright colours, and many pastels and cool-toned colours. Pick up this makeup palette if you're looking for colours that are appropriate for day wear, and perfect for smoky, smouldering eyes at night.
This is how BH Cosmetics describes its 120 Colour Palette 3rd Edition. I had never heard of BH Cosmetics until I purchased this palette on Ozsale about six months ago for around $20. For all those different colours and shadows, it was too good a deal to pass up. Plus, you get all your eyeshadows in one convenient place. I chose this particular palette because, as you will see, it contains lots of colourful shades for Summer as well as cooler and neutral shades for Winter.
From yellow-golds, to corals, to turquoise, there are plenty of bright and pastel colours in the first tray, many of which I haven't yet used. But Spring is here and Summer is coming, so I'm sure I'll be experimenting more with colour as I tend to stick to browns during the colder months. I love that most of these colours suit green eyes and there aren't too many blues which, I find, generally clash with my eye colour. Having said that, I did use the blue at the bottom to line my lower lash line a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. What I am a little confused about is how to use the two reds in the bottom right corner: if you have any tips, it would be great if you could leave them in the comments below.

Here is a swatch rainbow for you:
Some of the colours are a little less pigmented than others but I have found that I can build most of them to the intensity I would like, and it also depends on the quality of the brush you are using. Whether you're in the mood for a matte or shimmer look, there are both within many colour blocks; there are both matte and shimmer oranges, for example.
Now onto the second tray, the most used of the two. I definitely use this tray on a daily basis. Unfortunately, this doesn't have as many browns as I had hoped it would; it only has two true matte browns. But it still has many other neutrals to choose from and quite a few transition colours, which is always a good thing. I love that it has purples and greens: they're great for creating smoky eyes.
I feel that this tray is more versatile than the first one because you can use it to create a really natural eye for the day time and it contains darker colours for a more dramatic, night time look.

From what I have read, people seem to be either really really happy or really really unhappy with these palettes. I fall into the former category. No, they may not be as good quality as other eyeshadows. But for the price you pay, BH Cosmetics palettes are pretty good. I haven't tried these shadows with an eye primer but without one their staying power is decent; they budge a little due to my slightly oily lids.

As a new blogger, you know I am not being paid by BH Cosmetics to give a good review. I am content with the quality of these eyeshadows. The possibilities are endless because there are so many colours to create so many different looks with. I recommend them to those who are on a budget especially, and I would have purchase(d) them again as I am awaiting the arrival of the Galaxy Chic and 120 Colour 5th Edition palettes.
